Hey guys If you are wondering about the fine settings and details about using a computer. If the computer you are using has an Nvidia graphics card model. You must have seen the Nvidia control panel window in your computer. You may have wondered about the settings under the Manage 3D settings tab here.
Otherwise, since you do not know what the existing settings are in the window of managing 3D settings, you have never bothered with these settings. In this article, we will show you the options available in the Manage 3D settings tab in the Nvidia control panel and explain what they mean.
What is Nvidia control panel?
Nvidia control panel is the support and control software offered to Nvidia graphics card users. You can access many configuration settings of your Nvidia graphics card. Thanks to the Nvidia control panel, you can set how much support your video card will support for which game or program.
Control Panel and 3D settings
When you open the Nvidia control panel, a window will open as shown in the image below.
Did you know that you can increase the FPS value you get in games by making some adjustments here?
First of all, you can use MSI Afterburner software to see for yourself how these options affect the games before proceeding with the adjustments. You can not observe how many FPS your device gets in games. So you can see the performance before the settings change and the performance after changing the settings with your own eyes.
You can click here to install MSI Afterburner software on your device and open performance monitor .
You can increase FPS in games by changing the advanced 3D settings in the Nvidia control panel window. But first you need to know what the settings here are.To change the settings, open the Nvidia control panel and check the Use advanced 3D display settings box. Then go to the section with these settings by clicking Take me there to the right of this option .
You will see many configuration settings as seen in the image below.Let's find out what these configuration settings are to provide FPS increase in games.
Environmental shielding: It makes the shadows in the games look better.Turning this feature off increases the FPS value in games at a low rate.
Anisotropic filtering: Makes textures look much sharper at narrow angles. This option has little impact on performance. However, depending on the game you play, the effect on the visual can be great.
Anti-aliasing: Smoothes out jagged lines on the edges of objects. In many settings in the game, the "FXAA" option can be used instead of the "AA" option.
CUDA-GPUs: Use GPU power to improve software like PhysX and other graphics developments. We strongly recommend its use.
DSR: Allows you to render a game you are playing in higher resolutions. It also allows you to get better image quality.
However, it negatively affects the performance of your device. If you are experiencing very poor performance while playing games, you can disable this setting.
Maximum pre-rendered frames: Frames are buffered by preloading them on the CPU unit before they reach the GPU unit. You can set it to any value between 1 and 4.
Monitor technology: By activating this feature, you can use the G-SYNC feature. Thus, you can achieve higher refresh rates and solve problems such as screen tearing.
Multi-frame sampling AA: Increases anti-aliasing without any performance loss.
Power management mode: We recommend that the optimal power option be enabled.
However, the maximum performance option can also be selected to achieve higher performance. This option makes the GPU unit run at full power. As a result, it causes the GPU unit to heat up and the coolers to make a lot of noise.
Texture filtering: Improves the display of smooth textures.
Sequential optimization: Allows the multi-core CPU to perform some GPU tasks during gameplay.
Triple buffering: Allows adding a third buffering frame to the GPU unit when playing Open GL games. Thus, it prevents the performance losses sometimes experienced while buffering the frame.
Vertical sync (VSync): Syncs the in-game frame rate to the Hz of your monitor.Screen tearing is prevented when Hz is lower than FPS.
